The history of it all

My History...

Going back over the years of the history of my issues I have seen Osteopaths, GPs, Gastroenterologist, Rheumatologist, Neurologist, Physiotherapists, Remedial masseuse, Biochemical specialists, Kinesologists, Accupuncturists, Naturapaths.  I've had some very caring doctors attempt to work out why I had gastro-intestinal problems, chronic pain and its associated complaints.
I've had MRI's, CTs, Ultrasounds, gastroscopy/colonoscopy, nerve conduction studies, blood tests including genetic testing and I've taken an array of medications from anti depressants, neorpathis drugs, analgesia and others.
There were also a few that treated me like I was drug seeking and made me feel like it was all in my head.  In fact one put the 'fibromyalgia' down to losing two daughters in pregnancy.

Now

Post Gastric Bypass, I have lost around 53kgs and in so many ways feel amazing BUT it has enhanced many of my gastrointestinal issues.  I've become sensitive to FODMAPs (Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols) and I've had 3 Gastric ulcers.
I sought out a Qualified Nutritionist who looked at the long list of issues and used words like Inflammation and gut health.  He has 2 stool tests done.  One was looking for Parasite DNA and the other looked at my intestinal biome and looked for things like fungus (which I thought I had).
Basically it came back that I have an overgrowth of two intestinal bacteria.  One of which loves sugar and then produces lactic acid.  This one I had 96% of and you should only have 5%.  Then the big one... I was completely missing one bacteria.

So these findings are very new to me but I've been looking in to gut health for a few months with a growing interest in studying Nutrition (Shhh don't tell hubby).

I'm now in the first few weeks of healing my gut health and finally have hope for a much brighter future.
